Both Mission to the World and Serge have a plethora of resources for people considering missions short and long-term.

STEP 1  Attend a LINK event. Click here to find more details about this year's event, which will take place September 16-17, 2016 in San Diego, California.

At this 2-day interactive event, MTW staff and a few missionaries will help you link more fully to cross-cultural missions. It includes opportunities to discern God’s call, understand more about ministry possibilities around the world, and how to overcome common obstacles to pursuing missions. To learn more about the next Link event, contact MTW at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

STEP 2  Fill out a “Get Started” form.

This form will give you the chance to share with MTW your areas of interest and what you would like to know more about. (You do not have to attend a Link event before filling out this form.)

STEP 3  You will be assigned a Missionary Mobilizer.

After filling out the “Get Started” form, an MTW Missionary Mobilizer will contact you to learn more about you and your interest in missions. Your mobilizer will be knowledgeable about the different MTW programs and will work closely with you as you consider missions more fully. There is no pressure in starting a conversation with a mobilizer, it is just a great way to explore missions and MTW to a greater extent.

STEP 4  Serve with MTW.

Possibilities for those interested in serving include everything from church planting to mercy ministry to teaching English as a second language (and everything in between). Opportunities range from a few months to a lifetime.

For more information, visit the MTW website.

STEP 1  Fill out a Goform.

After filling out the form, a Serge representative will contact you to learn more about your interest level in missions.

STEP 2  You will be assigned a mobilizer

STEP 3  Discern your fit to one of the following mission opportunities:

  • Short Term Trips (1-2 weeks)
  • Internships (2-11 months)
  • Apprenticeships (1-2 years)
  • Long-term (5 year commitment)

If you have an interest in the apprenticeship or long-term opportunity, check out their “Steps to the Field”. For more general information, visit the Serge website.
